About Me

Jamie C. Townes, MS. Ed

Mompreneur & Concept Ingenuist

As Founder and Principal Consultant of Build You Up!, LLC (BYU), Jamie stands on BYU’s mission of “growing to higher heights within”. The firm’s mission is the driving force behind her work. Jamie has a focus on personal core development-applying therapeutic techniques to business, with a range of clientele which includes athletes, business leaders, owners and aspiring entrepreneurs. BYU’s services include concept ingenuity, growth strategies, risk management & social service commitment.

In 2019 BYU launched two new initiatives Build You Up! Academy an online training and development center along with Build You Up! sisTERS an online community and education platform for mothers with a special focus on supportive services for mothers of hospitalized premature babies. 

​

Jamie has been working with non-profits for the past 20 years. She transitioned from working with primarily at risk youth to working with families to prevent involvement with the child welfare system through the implementation of evidence based practices to community development through entrepreneurship. 

​

A Pittsburgh native, Jamie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Science Education, majoring in Marriage and Family Therapy from Duquesne University. Jamie’s greatest accomplishment to date is the honor of being the wif to her amazing husband Joshua and being the mother to her very energetic and always happy son, Caleb who is the inspiration for her book titled, “God's First: A 31 Day Devotional for Mothers of Hospitalized Premature Babies”.

We have a special sisterhood built on trust, encouragement, relationships and support. Simplified, we have each other's back! We respect our differences and celebrate our similarities. We believe our interactions are opportunities to learn and grow as women. We are a community!
